Topic: Stress Reduction for Parents/Families
Description: Considering the incredible variety of student needs that parents and educators are managing, research indicates that stress levels are at an all-time high. Understanding the ripple effect of this stress and supporting each other with effective stress management strategies can be transformative in allowing adults to be at the best for students. This workshop provides attendees with research-based strategies for self-care, including monitoring strong emotional reactions, combatting de-motivating or stress-inducing thinking patterns, effective goal setting, coping skills that can be utilized, and incorporating mindfulness and relaxation techniques. This session is being offered in conjunction with the Child Mind Institute.

Topic: When to Worry About a Student’s Worries
Details: This workshop will help participants to recognize when a child’s worries are signs of anxiety that can be treated. The facilitator will introduce several types of anxiety disorders common in children and teens, as well as their signs, symptoms, and steps that can be taken to intervene. There will be Spanish translation available for this session.
