What is Regeneron?

The Program Office shares some helpful information on Regeneron Research Classes: What is Regeneron?

Regeneron Science Talent Search is the name of the national research competition.  The class is geared toward helping student pursue research and entering the competition.  It’s a prestige competition that offers scholarships to semi-finalists and finalists.  This is often one of the best ways to distinguish oneself from the rest of the student body.  Depending on your area of interest, Stuyvesant offers a few options for this class.  There are Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Social Science, and Mathematics classes.  If you are interested, you are encouraged to apply for the class.  If you have additional questions, we recommend that you contact the research coordinator in that area.  For Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, please contact Mr. Econome or Mr. Thomas.  For Social Science, please contact Ms. Schweitzer.  For Mathematics, please contact Mr. Stern.

The Regeneron Class is not required.  However, it does fulfill the 10-tech/Applied Learning requirement for the Stuyvesant endorsed diploma.  You are very likely to get the class if you select it.  It will take precedence over other electives, but not AP courses.
