WGIRLS Inc. Project G.L.A.M. Scholarship for 2021 female grads - apply by 6/15/2021

With the class of 2021 preparing to graduate, WGIRLS Inc. is continuing to work toward a brighter future for young women in need. While we were disappointed that we weren’t able to host our annual prom dress give away, They are very excited to still be able to offer an annual WGIRLS Project G.L.A.M. Scholarship award!  

The WGIRLS Inc. Project G.L.A.M. Scholarship is a merit and need-based scholarship designed to help young women cover costs associated with pursuing a college education. The scholarship award(s) will range in value from $1,500 to $3,000 dollars. 

All graduating female students from the class of 2021 who attend a public school in NYC are encouraged to apply. The application for the scholarship is available at the link below.

The deadline to apply for the scholarship is June 15th, 2021. Scholarship recipients will be contacted via phone and email on or before July 2nd, 2021.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Female high school seniors on track to graduate in 2021. 

The student must:

• Be accepted to a college/university with plan to start Fall 2021
• Have a minimum 3.0 GPA at time of application submission
• Have proof of financial need (family household income less than $52,000 AGI or free/reduced lunch status from 2019-2020 school year)

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Each applicant must submit: 

• A completed application
• A one-page essay (400-500 words)
• A copy of their high school transcript
• A letter of recommendation from high school teacher or guidance counselor
• Signed statement of support by guidance counselor or other support staff
