Ms. Marissa Maggio shares that on Tuesday, October 29th, students in the Urban Ecology classes went to Fresh Kills Park in Staten Island. The park is the city’s largest park construction since Central Park and has capped what once the state's largest landfill. They climbed to the top of north mound, over a 150 high and filled with trash! At the top, they grabbed some binoculars and despite the clouds and fog spotted six different species of birds.
