Summer Discovery at Stuyvesant has begun. We hosted parents of our 94 students in the Discovery Program on July 1st for a Meet the Teacher Event and Breakfast with the Principal. Parents met their students’ teachers, Mr. Peng, Mr. Ferenz and Ms. Prabhu and then in Breakfast with the Principal, Ms. Ingram organized small group activity discussions on typical high school and Stuy challenges. We then held a group discussion in the library with Principal Contreras, Assistant Principals Mr. Grossman and Mr. Smith, and Director of Family Engagement, Ms. Ingram. Students, Joanna Zheng, Jasmine Xiao, Zoya Bukhari and Jingwei Liu offered their experiences with parents. An open forum Q&A was also held. The students had a special presentation at the same time with Assistant Principal, Ms. Pedrick, School Counselor, Ms. Rhiman and SPARK Counselor Mr. Colon and then first day of classes were held.
