This week at Stuyvesant, we celebrated 50 years of Co-Education. ‘StuyFem‘, Stuyvesant’s Feminist’s Association, led students in creating a wall saluting role models and inspiring women by the senior bar on the 2nd floor. We welcomed back five of the 14 very first women to be admitted to Stuyvesant as well as the woman who fought against the Board of Education in 1969 to allow girls to test for Stuy and a chance to attend, Dr. Alice deRivera Haines. (Appearing in the photo left to right: Suzanne Rose Shapiro, Eve Berman, Dr. Alice Haines, Dr. Evelyn Horn, Abby Sheck, and Laren Herman Lynn.)

StuyFem seniors, Leah Rosenthal and Alexandra Lennard served as student moderators in a panel discussion at this historic event.
