Last week was the first full week of the 2025-2026. It was also our first week of the new Distraction Free learning in New York State! Students were not able to access internet-enabled devices throughout the day, but they found great ways to substitute for not having their smart phones, iPads, tablets, laptops and gaming devices by playing games together, getting classwork, homework and reading done, coloring, playing music, singing, snacking, doing crafts like needlepoint, threading, crochet, and the hallways were buzzing with chatter and laughter of making new friends and having a good time! While we know this is a big adjustment, we are so proud of our students for their positive attitude and we look forward to making more board games, activities and books available, and looking into ways for students to also get their academics done during free periods in the coming weeks.
