<p>Stuyvesant is very proud to announce that we had <strong>128 National Merit semifinalists in the Class of 2018!</strong> How does a student become one? <strong>JUNIORS – your score on the PSAT is the National Merit Qualifier Test! (NMQT)</strong> <strong>Get set to take the PSAT this Wednesday!</strong></p>
<p>On this <strong>Wednesday, October 10<sup>th</sup>,</strong> ALL sophomores and juniors will take the <strong>PSAT</strong> at Stuyvesant.</p>
<p>For a handful of top-scoring <strong><u>juniors</u></strong>, this exam can be a game-changer that qualifies them to become <strong>National Merit Scholars</strong>. For sophomores, it gives an accurate prediction of how they would score on the slightly longer (but almost identical) SAT. <strong>Learn about what the PSAT is directly from the College Board website </strong><strong><a href="https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt-psat-10">HERE</a></strong> and sign up for notifications.</p>
<p><strong><u>Students taking the PSAT (ALL 10<sup>TH</sup> & 11<sup>TH</sup> GRADE STUDENTS) – doors open at 7:30am. Be in your classrooms at 8am.</u></strong></p>

<p><strong>Freshman</strong> – Arrive at <strong>9:30am</strong> and go to the theatre for a Wellness presentation with NY Center for Living and student performances.</p>
<p><strong>Seniors</strong> – Arrive at <strong>10:30pm</strong> and go to the 5<sup>th</sup> floor student dining hall for the College Office’s Financial Aid Presentation.</p>
<p>Abbreviated classes begin at 12:14pm. <strong>ALL CLASSROOM TESTING IS SUSPENDED on Wednesday</strong> in ALL subjects as per the <a href="https://stuy.entest.org/Testing%20Calendar%20Fall%202018%20ver_%201_3.docx">Fall Term Testing Calendar</a> Each period is 14 minutes in length.</p>
