Stuyvesant is very proud to announce that we had 128 National Merit semifinalists in the Class of 2018! How does a student become one? JUNIORS – your score on the PSAT is the National Merit Qualifier Test! (NMQT) Get set to take the PSAT this Wednesday!
On this Wednesday, October 10th, ALL sophomores and juniors will take the PSAT at Stuyvesant.
For a handful of top-scoring juniors, this exam can be a game-changer that qualifies them to become National Merit Scholars. For sophomores, it gives an accurate prediction of how they would score on the slightly longer (but almost identical) SAT. Learn about what the PSAT is directly from the College Board website HERE and sign up for notifications.
Students taking the PSAT (ALL 10TH & 11TH GRADE STUDENTS) – doors open at 7:30am. Be in your classrooms at 8am.

Freshman – Arrive at 9:30am and go to the theatre for a Wellness presentation with NY Center for Living and student performances.
Seniors – Arrive at 10:30pm and go to the 5th floor student dining hall for the College Office’s Financial Aid Presentation.
Abbreviated classes begin at 12:14pm. ALL CLASSROOM TESTING IS SUSPENDED on Wednesday in ALL subjects as per the Fall Term Testing Calendar Each period is 14 minutes in length.
