The Chess Team returned from a successful Supernationals tournament in Orlando, Florida with the 3rd Place Trophy in the Championship section. As individuals, Krish Bhandari ‘25 won 8th, Aiden Reiss ‘27 won 17th place and Adi Murgescu ‘25 40th place overall. Milo James Kong ‘28, Ken Wakida ‘27, and Hema Vikas ‘26 also counted for the team. Class prizes went to Ken (1800-1899), Milo (1700-1799), Michael Avrahami ‘25 (1600-1699), Tyler Horiuchi ‘27 (1500-1599), and newcomer James Ruan ‘27 (unrated).
In the Blitz tournament at Supernationals, Stuyvesant took 4th place in the open section and 1st place in Under 1800. Congratulations to Arko Charkrabartiroy ‘26 in 8th, Oliver Hua ‘27 in 17th, and Anthony Zhu ‘28 in 36th, for their title. In the open section of Blitz, Krish tied for 4th. Class prizes in blitz went to Louis Barry ‘27 (1800-1899), Rhyan Grennan ‘28 (1700-1799), Andy Zhou ‘26 and Abigail Yang ‘26 (1600-1699), and Tyler (1500-1599).
