Spring 2026 Program Program Change Requests

Preliminary Spring Term 2026 programs are being released to students on January 20, 2026, in Talos. Student programs are developed to position students to progress through the NYSED graduation and Stuyvesant endorsement requirements. Please note, you may see a student program on other platforms such as the MySchools, TeachHub, or parent NYC Schools account; however, these programs are not accurate. Therefore, please wait until the preliminary student programs, which will be available on Talos on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, to review your student schedule.  

Students will have the opportunity to request ONE program change and the submission must be made no later than the deadline at 8:00 AM on Friday, January 23, 2026. The program change request process for students in grades 9, 10, 11, and 12 will start on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 and the opportunity to request ONE program change will only be accepted through Talos, the portal to submit a program change request. 

Please keep in mind a submission for a program change request does not guarantee the request will result in a program change. The submission is a request only and dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to graduation and Stuyvesant endorsement requirements, AP limits and prerequisites, seat availability, IEP/504 services, and mandated instructional periods and courses/labs. Be sure to review this entire message (and the FAQ) as we provide more information for what qualifies as one program change request submission along with how and when to submit a program change request. Please note, program change requests on the basis of the following reasons below will be denied:

• Teacher preference
• Period preference. Examples include, but are not limited to:
  • Travel distance from home
  • Requests to arrive late/leave early
  • Changes to lunch period
• Undocumented health issues
• Classroom location
• Requests to reverse previously requested program change
• A program that does not meet the criteria of a full program will be denied. A full program is defined as six (6) academic classes, plus PE, plus lunch, plus lab (where applicable).

The program change request through Talos will be open starting with our upperclassmen and following the timeframe below: 

Seniors

Tuesday January 20, 2026 starting at 3:00 pm EST

Juniors

Tuesday, January 20, 2026, starting at 5:00 pm EST

Sophomores & Freshmen

Tuesday, January 20, 2026 starting at 7:00 pm EST
