Thursday, 11/14, after 10th period at 4pm in Lecture Hall B (keep walking straight from the main lobby entrance and then make a left at the end of the hallway), the Student Union will be inviting
Mr. Ruvim Breydo, a Stuyvesant and Harvard alumnus, to speak about his love for math, his journey as the co-chief investment officer for D.E. Shaw & Co, and founder of Math-M-Addicts! Some other notable things about him include that he was the captain of the Math Team in his senior year at Stuyvesant, received an AB in physics, and was a Silver medalist in the USA Math Olympiad and a Bronze medalist in the International Math Olympiad in 1991.
Additionally, Young Women in Bio is hosting a guest speaker event after school tomorrow in room 231 (This may change if a lecture hall is available).
Dr. Nava Ariel-Sternberg is the Director of the Columbia Nano Initiative at Columbia Engineering. She will be talking about her research and work at CNI labs, nanoscience and engineering labs (nanofabrication cleanroom, materials characterization lab, and electron microscopy). She will also give an introduction to the development of nanotechnology and how nano research is carried out. Through this speaker event, you will also have the opportunity to attend a full-day workshop at Columbia Engineering on the 18th. RSVP here:
