You may recall from our junior year presentations for students and parents last winter that we advised students against using their stuy.edu email addresses with their college applications. This was because in recent years some colleges have not been able to successfully email students at these addresses, an issue Google has never rectified.
Unfortunately, we have learned that this issue has resurfaced this fall. Some college emails are not reaching students at their stuy.edu addresses, from multiple colleges, including Northeastern University, Binghamton University, and University at Albany.
Students who used their stuy.edu address in Common App or any other college application please take note:
If you do not receive an email from any college with your applicant portal and login credentials within 1-3 days of submitting your application (check your junk.spam folder too), make sure to contact that college and ask them to change your contact information to a different email address.
Contact your assigned college counselor if you have questions or need assistance.
