Question of the Week - 3/9/2020

What is the latest update on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The health and safety of our students and staff members continues to be our highest priority, and we will follow all guidance and take all appropriate measures accordingly.

The most recent information for families is available DOE’s coronavirus updates website.

Here is a list of resources with family-facing information on COVID-19:

DOHMH’s main coronavirus page; Coronavirus FAQ for NYC schools and families; and a

General fact sheet on COVID-19, available in multiple languages at nyc.gov/coronavirus under “Additional Resources.”

Every day, announcements are made to remind everyone of the following:  All students and staff should continue to practice general flu prevention measures including:

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or sleeve
  • Wash your hands regularly
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Get your flu shot – it’s never too late
  • Stay home if you’re feeling sick.  Call your doctor and let them know your symptoms, travel history, and if you’ve had contact with people who are sick.

Letters to families from the DOE are available in ten languages at this website, including Chinese, Bengali and Korean.
