Painting Classes share abstracts inspired by Kandinsky

Ms. Jeannie Chu shares that the Painting class student work is on exhibit on the 1st and 6th floors (by the library).

“Inspired by one of the major pioneers of abstract art, Vasily Kandinsky (specifically his Composition painting series), students in Mrs. Chu’s Painting class created music translation paintings based
on 2 songs of choice. Tone and rhythm of the music helped determine color and form in their paintings. Watercolor techniques gradation, salt, rubbing alcohol, saran wrap, and wax resist were applied in producing different effects and textures to students’ paintings. Please enjoy!”
