<p>Earlier this spring, the <strong>New York State Dream Act</strong> was finally approved, <em>which will enable students who were previously ineligible for New York State financial aid due to their immigration status to now qualify for state funding like TAP or Excelsior.</em> These awards can be worth over $5000 per year in grant aid. </p>
<p>The application is not yet in place but should be launched soon so that current seniors and college students can apply for NYS aid for next fall; if you were previously ineligible for TAP Excelsior due to your immigration status, <a href="https://www.hesc.ny.gov/dream/">please see THIS LINK</a> and keep checking your Naviance account for the application. Once it is available, apply as soon as possible.</p>
