Ms. Lisa Shuman share that she took her Global IV class off Broadway to see the NY debut of Vilna, an original play about the fate of Lithuania's thriving Jewish Community during WWII, and the recently excavated Ponar Tunnel discovered at the site of the Ponar concentration site. Told through the perspective of two teenagers and their families and encompassing the historical timeline of events in Nazi-occupied Poland, the play served as effective enrichment to the WWII and Holocaust unit students are currently studying in class. After the play, students met with and participated in a Q&A with the author/playwright where they posed some inquisitive and applicable questions. (photos courtesy of Ms. Shuman)
