Assistant Principal, Ms. Francesca McAuliffe shares that on Tuesday, October 8th, she was invited to Ms. Chie Helinski's class where special guests from Japan shared popular Japanese games with her 3-5th period classes.
These math games included: Slitherlink, Kakuro, & Shikaku.
Our students learned how to navigate each game from Yoshinao Anpuku. He is the Vice President of Nikoli and is the one who invented the puzzle Shikaku. Nikoli is the name of the company based in Tokyo that publishes many puzzle books including Sudoku.
