Last week, Ms. Shangaza Banfield shares that her Modern Biology classes took a trip to the Sackler Lab at American Museum of Natural History to conduct a bio-cultural evolution themed experiment. The objective of this lab was to determine whether common variants in the AMY1 gene are associated with geographic and cultural dietary intake. Ms. Banfield would like to give a special thanks to Ms. Ruthy Byers (Stuy parent/chaperone) who acted as a photographer; photos below!
