The Metropolitan Opera is thrilled to open our season with Fire Shut Up in My Bones. This thrilling new opera by jazz legend Terence Blanchard will be the first time a black composer’s work has been sung on the Met’s stage.
To celebrate this historic night, the Met will stream the opera’s premiere live from our stage at Lincoln Center to Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem on Monday, September 27, 2021 beginning at 6:00pm. See the flyer for more details.
