Seniors received the following message from our College Office on September 8, 2022:
Naviance is the tool through which we will submit required documents to most of the colleges and universities to which you'll apply. You can log in to your Naviance account via the link below.

1- Most of you will likely apply to colleges via the Common Application (www.commonapp.org). Common App and Naviance are linked to one another; you must match your Common App account to Naviance. To do so, follow the instructions in the document “Matching Common App & Naviance” which you’ll find in the College Office folder of the Document Resources section of your Naviance account. While complete ting these steps make sure to select “I waive my right” in the FERPA Release Authorization form to avoid complications with your recommenders.
This is a simple task and you don’t need to be sure of your college plans yet. But until you complete this step (matching), we will not be able to send documents to colleges for you.
2- Please make sure you (the student) attend our in-person presentation on September 13 in Lecture Hall A through your social studies class. Your parent(s) should attend Senior College Night on September 14, which will be virtual. That event will be recorded and shared with all senior parents afterward. Details about Senior College Night will be shared in a separate email. These presentations will provide a wealth of important college planning information and will answer many of your questions.
3-Assign your teacher recommenders in Naviance (NOT IN COMMON APP!). Follow the instructions entitled “Naviance Instructions for Assigning Teacher Recs” in the “College Office” folder in the Document Resources section of your Naviance account. Also, remember to thank your teachers with a letter, card, or thoughtful email sometime this term!
3-Our college counselors will soon contact you to schedule individual appointments with seniors to check on your college plans. Please remember that we are not able to offer parent appointments in the senior year. Parents can of course email us as needed throughout the year. Students can also drop by our College Office for quick questions any day during the open q & a periods; 1st, 5th, 10th, and often right after 10th period as well.
4-You DO NOT need to update your SSR survey for your school counselor’s rec letter; rec letters are not intended to list all of your extracurriculars. You will list any summer activities in your applications. But, if you have something new and critical to share with your school counselor, please use the SSR Survey Update form in Naviance and email your school counselor to let them know you have a briefupdate to share with them. If you plan on submitting an update, please do so by September 19.
5-If you will be applying to colleges via Questbridge, or in the UK through the UCAS application (Oxford, Cambridge, etc.) please make sure to follow the instructions that will be emailed to you by our college counselor Dr. Wilson.
