Managing School Stress & Anxiety - 7pm - Wellness Night - PA Meeting February 26th

The next General Meeting of the Parent’s Association will take place on Tuesday, February 26th at 7pm. There will be a special Wellness Night co-presented by the PA and Stuyvesant High School. The topic will be Managing School Stress and Anxiety - A Panel Discussion about Challenges, Stress Management, and Family Resources. Special guest speaker, Tracy Ross from the Ackerman Institute for the Family, will discuss high school stressors, the work that family support can provide, and resources in the community for families.  Jessica Chock-Goldman, Stuyvesant's LCSW (licensed clinical social worker), will talk about the challenges the students she works with face and some management techniques.  Angel Colon, Program Coordinator of Stuyvesant's SPARK, will speak about the various support programs and counseling services for our students and community.    In addition, we will hear from two student leaders, Senior, Amanda Li of Stuyvesant Limitless (focused on mental health thru self-love, self-care, self-esteem) and Senior, Alisa Chen of Stuyvesant Project Love (focused on spreading awareness of social, emotional, mental health).  At the end of the program, the panel will be taking questions from the audience.  Refreshments will be served in the lobby at 6:30pm. There will be simultaneous translation provided in Mandarin.
