JUNIORS: You may have heard about (or experienced) issues with your stuy.edu email addresses when attempting to register for college admissions events this spring. This problem certainly appears to be related to issues some of our seniors increasingly reported this term.
Our staff worked diligently to investigate these issues, and it became clear early on that the source of the problem goes beyond anything our staff can rectify. Lengthy and repeated communications with Google have still not resolved these issues.
So, to be safe, we strongly recommend that our juniors do NOT use their stuy.edu email addresses for their college or financial aid applications next year (Common App, etc.) Instead, use an alternate, professional email address.
If you have already engaged with colleges using your stuy.edu email, that's okay; you can contact admissions offices to notify them about any new email address, and it is the email associated with your eventual applications that they will use to contact you as needed next year.
