The 2021 YAI Hudson Valley Autism Conference welcomes people with autism, parents, caregivers, and professionals to join us for a day of motivating and educational presentations.
Interoception is an important sensory system that helps us to feel internal body signals like a full bladder, growling stomach, tense muscles, or speeding heart. Many autistic children and adults experience interoception extremes ranging from body signals that are too small and go unnoticed or body signals that are too big and create overwhelm and distraction. Often this inner experience goes unnoticed or misunderstood by others. This conference will provide an overview of what the latest research tells us about interoception with a specific focus on how this sense influences self-regulation and social connection.
Free General tickets are for persons with developmental disabilities, families, and professionals who do not need Continuing Education (CE) credits. Registration is required to attend the Hudson Valley Autism Conference. Register and learn more here!
