GenConnect - eight-week intergenerational program for ELLs/MLs

This spring, NYCPS, in collaboration with community-based organizations, is hosting GenConnect, an eight-week intergenerational program in select languages (currently in Arabic, Bengali, Chinese-Mandarin, Hausa, and Spanish) that brings multilingual students/English language learners (MLs/ELLs) and their families together to strengthen family-school partnerships while building advocacy, leadership, literacy, and social-emotional skills. Each community-based organization hosts the program in the home language of the community it serves. Through engaging, culturally responsive activities offered in families’ home languages, the program creates a welcoming space where families can connect with one another, support their children’s learning, and build confidence navigating and advocating within the school system.

Interested families should review the flyers below to learn more about the program and how to register.
