The Eco-Fact of the week from the Environmental Club for the week fo October 4, 2021 --
Remember the plastic bag ban that was enacted sometime during quarantine in 2020? Well, there was a valid reason. According to the NYC Department of Sanitation, in New York City alone, residents use more than 10 billion single-use bags, which accumulates to about $12 million in disposal. What we use for 12 minutes is then thrown out, staying floating around the earth for hundreds to thousands of years. Please remember to use reusable bags whenever possible to help save our environment!
