The Environmental Club presents the Eco-Fact of the week for the week of November 2-6th -- Perhaps an even more egregious pollutant than your usual plastics, styrofoam – found in single-use, disposable food utensils – is not naturally biodegradable (scientists estimate up to 500 years for this material to degrade), and thus not classified as a recyclable material for most curbside recycling programs. Keeping that in mind, we urge you to use your own, long-lasting utensils when you can, and paper if you must go single-use.
Help to preserve our resources and properly sort your trash!
