This summer has seen some of the most severe wildfires ever in places such as California and Greece. In fact, more than 2 million acres of land have been destroyed in the US just from these fires, forcing people to evacuate and disrupting wildlife. Many believe such extreme wildfires are climate change related and occur due to the exceptionally high temperatures that we’ve been experiencing. To prevent events like these from happening, we must reduce the amount of greenhouse gases we release, whether that be limiting usage of cars, using water efficiently, purchasing ENERGY STAR light bulbs (they’re more efficient), or calculating your household carbon footprint to find out how you are contributing to carbon emissions. Help to preserve our resources and properly sort your trash!
