Dr. Lisa Greenwald held the Annual Hardtack Bake-Off Competition on the last day of classes before the Winter Break. The field was full of tough competitors both in the "authentic" and the "creative" divisions. Prizes and certificates will be awarded when we return. This year many more students tried their hand making confederate coffee which had to be creative given the Union blockade and the lack of supplies (don't worry, there was a no foraging in NYC parks rule).
There was a "camp fire", Civil War era games, and Lincoln Jokes and Stories party favors. Dr. Greenwald provided the real coffee which Union soldiers were able to drink. (photos courtesy of Ms. Suri)
