COVID Test Kit Instructions -- what to do if you test Positive

On January 12, 2022, students received test kits with instructions below.

Dear Stuyvesant Families and Students,

With positive cases continually being reported to the school, we anticipate multiple exposures will potentially occur because of the total number of classes throughout the day each student has with other students. Therefore, when students enter the building tomorrow (Wednesday, January 12) morning we will distribute a COVID-19 home test kit (two tests) along with directions for how to use them. Our guidance has changed so please review carefully the accompanying COVID-19 flow chart and these directions below for home test kit use.

All students take their test kit (2 tests) home and should take one test on Wednesday, January 12. If the test is negative, then students should continue to attend school the following day. Students should take the second test again on Sunday, January 16, 2022, as another check.

There are two exceptions to the procedure above:

1. Students, who are symptomatic, should take one test on Wednesday, January 12, and then a second test on Day 2;

OR

1. Students, who already tested positive in the last 90 days for COVID-19 (unless new symptoms arise) should NOT test.

Please use the following form at: https://tinyurl.com/stuycovid to report a new positive case. The form will allow us to maintain accurate records of COVID activity and any needed follow up.
