Congratulations to sophomore, Kristoff Misquitta, who was among several of our students accepted to the Junior Academy, an online group of talented STEM students and problem solvers, sponsored by the New York Academy of Sciences and on his acceptance to the Urban Barcode Research Program (UBRP), a student mentorship and research program. Kristoff was an Honorable Mention at the 2019 Genes in Space Competition for his proposal of the use of competitive reverse transcription PCR to quantify microRNA-31 as a biomarker for the rate of bone loss in microgravity. He was featured in their blog last Spring.
