Congratulations to sophomore, Kristoff Misquitta, Honorable Mention at the 2019 genes in Space Competition!

<div> <p>Congratulations to sophomore, <strong>Kristoff Misquitta</strong>, who was among several of our students accepted to the <strong>Junior Academy</strong>, an online group of talented STEM students and problem solvers, sponsored by the New York Academy of Sciences and on his acceptance to the Urban Barcode Research Program (UBRP), a student mentorship and research program. Kristoff was an <strong>Honorable Mention at the 2019 Genes in Space Competition</strong> for his proposal of the use of competitive reverse transcription PCR to quantify microRNA-31 as a biomarker for the rate of bone loss in microgravity. He was featured in their <a href="https://www.genesinspace.org/blog/gis-spotlight-2018-honorable-mention-kristoff-misquitta/">blog</a> last Spring.</p> </div>
