<div><strong>Mr. Stan Kats</strong> shares that last weekend the <strong>NYC Math Team</strong> competed in the <strong>Harvard-MIT Math Tournament</strong>.</div>

<div><strong>Our top team, Tin Man, finished 5th place</strong> in the GUTS round, a live round where teams compete face-to-face.</div>

<div>During the team round, <strong>our second team, Scarecrow, finished in 7th place.</strong> The team had six Stuyvesant students on it - <strong>Ben Gallai, Ben Kreiswirth, Jerry Liang, Maxwell Peng, Theo Schiminovich, </strong>and<strong> Mario Tutuncu-Macias.</strong></div>

<div>Overall, Tin Man finished in 8th place, up from 10th last year. The team had six Stuyvesant students on it - <strong>Akash Das, Rishabh Das, Ethan Joo, Srinath Mahankali, Kimi Sun, </strong>and<strong> Max Vaysburd</strong>. Scarecrow finished in 15th place overall, up from 43rd place last year.</div>

<div>Two of our students, <strong>Kimi Sun and Max Vaysburd, qualified for the Harvard-MIT Invitational Competition</strong>. This is the second time that Kimi has qualified for it, a first for the City Team.</div>
