Congratulations to Chelsea Yan, selected as a 2020-2021 Project Bridge Youth Ambassador. This is a highly selective program open to New York City public high school students. The program consists of bi-monthly workshops held after school or on weekends during the academic year, a fully paid ten-day study tour to Republic of Korea, and a community presentation usually conducted in June at our location in midtown Manhattan.

Some background on Project Bridge and the Korea Society: One of the Society’s longest running programs, Project Bridge was established in 1993 as a response to the 1992 Los Angeles riots and to introduce African-American urban students to Korean people, history and culture in an effort to promote greater understanding. It is a leadership program which aims to provide students with skills and a mind set to ‘bridge’ the gap among cultures through youth cultural awareness.
