On December 16th, Stuy Model U.N. sent 40 delegates to Bronx Science to compete at SciMUNC XVII (Model U.N. Conference). It was a great team performance, with our delegation taking home 9 awards. Our delegates were involved in a variety of committees, representing nations at the UN Security Council and the African Union, historical figures such as Portuguese explorers and individuals involved in the East India Company, characters from the Hunger Games, and many more. A big congratulations to juniors Albert Chen, Adeline Sauberli, Alexander Panas, Walker Simpson, and sophomore Ela Behrstock for winning Best Delegate gavels, junior Aeneas Merchant for winning Outstanding Delegate, sophomore Leonardo Benitez and freshman Maxanne Wallace-Segall for winning an Honorable Mention, and sophomore Alvaro Hernandez-Jenaro for being awarded a Verbal Commendation. It was a great learning experience for our novice delegates, and we’re really proud of the whole team for their hard work.
