Congrats to Japanese Honor Society Inductees & National Japanese Exam Medal Winners!

Ms. Chie Helinski shares the results of the National Japanese Competition! Congratulations to all! Tracy Yang and Tyler Zhou took the Level 1 exam and got a perfect score. Christin Lin had a perfect score in all three years of NJE.

Level 1 - 4 Golds, 4 Silvers, 2 Bronzes, and 1 Honorable Mention

Level 2 - 2 Silvers and 8 Bronzes

Level 3 - 9 Golds, 8 Silvers, 6 Bronzes, and 6 Honorable Mention

On Friday, June 5th, Ms. Helinski held the 17th annual Japanese National Honor Society induction ceremony. This year, held virtually via zoom. 85 people attended, with some students watching with their family members. The following 29 students were inducted:

Ethan Andrews, Cecilia Chen, Jason Chen, Rin Fukuoka, Jamie Hee, Elissa Huang, Mohammed Kalefa, Kano Kitaguchi, Edwin Li, Eve Lin, Geoffrey Lin, Tina Lu, Ismath Maksura, Alyssa Meczkowska, Celine Park, Ryan Petrauskas ,Arian Rahman, Shuprovo Sikder, Daniel Sooknanan, Christopher Sullivan, Ksenya Mull, An Qi Tong, Stella Wang, Faith Wilson, Barnatt Wu, Erica Wu, Jonathan Wu, Ava Yap, and Susan Zheng.

Principal Contreras delivered a live speech, and Assistant Principal, Ms. McAuliffe had sent a recorded message and congratulated the students' accomplishments. No sushi dinner the way we usually end the ceremony, but thanks to the current and new members' hard work, there were songs and a dance performance to make the ceremony memorable. Congratulations to the new inductees!
