Congratulations to Iago Macknik-Conde, the 2021 1st Place Winner of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 226’s Voice of Democracy Audio and Written Patriotic Essays, with the Theme: “America: Where do we go from here?” Commander Glen J. Flora presented Iago with a gold medal, Voice of Democracy Award certificate, and an award check for his winning essay and oral presentation. This special award is “In recognition of excellence in the Voice of Democracy Audio and Written Patriotic Essay Competition,” where Iago was designated as an “Outstanding Spokesperson for Freedom.” Iago’s recognition was written up on the 9/15/22 issue of Bayonne Community News (a scanned copy of the printed newspaper can be viewed HERE.).
