WEEKS OF 5/24 THROUGH 6/4 - Mr. Moran worked with Ms. Maggio to rebuild the raised beds of the rooftop garden. Students saw their first seedling blossom! Blended learners enjoyed games of giant chess on rainy days but also were able to get outdoors for Miles with McAuliffe and enjoy the great views and see some art installations at Brookfield and Rockefeller Park in the neighborhood. Precinct 1 of the NYPD hosted a Book Drive on our Bridge where students were able to get free books as well as donate books to the community!
WEEK OF MAY 17, 2021 - This week, students took a walking tour around Stuy and bumped into free mini golf at Brookfield Place during their free period on a sunny summer day. They also got to enjoy more Miles with McAuliffe as well as hang out at Pier 25 on the swings. We are grateful to the Stuy Parent's Association for the celebratory banner in honor of the Class of 2021! Thank you to our hard-working custodial staff for hanging it perfectly outside our main entrance!
WEEK OF MAY 10 2021 - 'Students enjoyed Vitamin D with Ms. P' - enjoying the sunshine in Rockefeller Park with Ms. Pedrick swinging together and chatting; in 'Miles with McAuliffe' students went on brisk walks on the Hudson Greenway with Ms. McAuliffe. Students began seed planting in room 737 for our Rooftop Garden overseen by Ms. Maggio. They also enjoyed playing music and singing together while kicking back with a game of giant Jenga and playing ping pong during breaks. Ms. Zhang came in to teach students a traditional Chinese game of shuttlecock as well.
