New York City Council Hearing Notice: Committee on Education
Please be advised that the Committee on Education will hold a hearing on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., virtually via Zoom-Webinar regarding a legislative package containing bills related to reforming the role of School Safety Agents:
- Legislation to be heard
- Int. No.___ (T2021-7109) - A Local Law to amend the New York city charter and the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to public school safety and security
- Int. No. ___ (T2021-7110) - A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring annual reports on employment turnover of school safety agents and other school safety personnel
- Int. No. ___ (T2020-6693) - A Local Law in relation to reporting on school principal evaluations of school safety agents
- Int. No. 2188 – A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to the police department’s response to students in emotional crisis in public schools
You are hereby invited to attend this hearing and testify therein.

- If you are pla
nning on testifying live via video conferencing, please register at https://council.nyc.gov/testify/ no later than 24 hours before the hearing. Each person who intends on testifying live should register separately. Persons who do not register in advance will not be permitted to testify live via video conferencing. Due to the expected large attendance at this hearing, and in the interest of fairness and being able to hear from everyone, all persons testifying will be limited to two (2) minutes. When your time is called, please wrap up your final thoughts.
