We are working diligently to keep you up to date on all the information regarding this year’s graduation ceremonies at United Palace Theater.
All ticketing for the venue will be electronic. Tickets will be acquired by logging on to the website for Boletos Express at the following URL: https://www.boletosexpress.com/stuyvesant-graduation/76873/. Tickets may be selected from a map of the venue, and you will check out with your student’s OSIS number. The ticketing site will open at 12 noon on Sunday, June 16th. You MUST select your seating on the website seating chart. Seats will be distributed on a first come, first served basis and will be emailed to the address entered on the site.
Graduates do not need a ticket to enter; provided they are wearing cap and gown; they will be admitted into the venue. Graduates will sit with their homerooms in the orchestra section of the theater. All seats in the venue are ticketed, so please only sit in the seats for which you have tickets.
We are planning for the graduation ceremony to begin promptly at 11am, but United Palace requires that all guests and grads go through security, which includes metal detectors, before entering the venue. As a result, we are asking graduates to arrive no later than 9am. Guests may enter at 10am. Graduates will separate from their guests outside of the venue. The address of the venue is 4140 Broadway between 175th and 176th. There is extremely limited parking in the area, so we strongly recommend taking mass transit. The following lines/stops are closest:
A Train to 175th Street & Fort Washington Avenue, and walk 1 block east to Broadway
C Train to 168th Street & Broadway, and walk to 175th Street
1 Train to 181st Street & St. Nicholas Avenue, and walk 2 blocks west and 5 blocks south to 175th Street & Broadway, or exit train at 168th Street and walk to 175th Street
Metro North Hudson River Line to Marble Hill, quick transfer to the Subway 1 Train at 225th Street to 181st or 168th Street
All seniors should have received their senior package by now—this contains their cap, gown, 2024 tassel, senior t-shirt, diploma case and keychain. If you do not have your package yet, it is not too late—please contact me ASAP at polazzo@stuy.edu. The diplomas themselves have been hand-calligraphed but are being stamped and will be distributed in homerooms on Wednesday, June 26th. If you have failed to return any devices or textbooks you may do so on this date
After the opening, there will be speeches and a combination of live and pre-recorded musical performances. Seniors will cross the stage and have the opportunity to shake hands with the principal. When each senior crosses the stage, their picture and name will be shown on the display screen. Seniors will cross the stage by official class, starting with 7AA and ending with 7ZZ. We hope to be done by 3:00 pm, but this is a complicated undertaking, and we ask that you be patient with us.
Food and drink ARE permitted in the venue, so you can bring your own lunch! Just please try to keep your space neat. Also, please check this list of all prohibited items: https://www.unitedpalace.org/prohibiteditems
If you have mobility issues or accessibility issues, please alert the venue staff upon entry and they will help guide you to appropriate seats. Please also note that United Palace requires all attendees to go through metal detectors.
