Class of 2022 Updates on Graduation & Senior Dues

Senior families in Class of 2022 - Here are updates on Graduation and Senior Dues! The letter below reached senior students and families on February 18, 2022.

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Seniors:

This letter is to inform you of the current status of Senior Dues for the Class of 2022. As has been the case since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, senior dues have been divided into three parts: (1) The senior package, (2) the graduation tickets and (3) the yearbook.

Senior Package

The first installment of the dues covers the senior package—cap and gown (kept by the student), senior class t- shirt, diploma cover, and senior keychain. This senior package should be purchased directly from SmoothUSA, our graduation vendor at the following URL:

https://stores.smoothusa.com/StuyvesantHS-Grad/shop/home

The cost is $60.98 and the entire package will be shipped to your home. This is time sensitivethe online store will close at midnight on March 1st, so you must order as soon as possible.

Graduation Tickets

This year’s graduation will take place at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing, NY on Wednesday, June 22 at 12 noon. While the stadium is covered, there is enough air circulation that it is considered an outdoor venue so should another variant come, we should still be able to proceed. The good news about this venue is that there is a plethora of seats so graduates should be able to bring at least four guests. At this time, we are not certain what the upper limit of tickets will be, but this will be communicated once we have a better idea about what rules will be used to govern capacity. The cost here is going to be $65—to be clear, this is a fee that we are paying to rent the venue; this is not a direct payment for a seat. In a week or so, a form will go out allowing you to pay this fee.

Yearbook

As was the case last year, we will be working with Herff-Jones to enable students to order their yearbooks to be shipped directly to their home address. At this time, we do not have an online form, but the cost will most likely be

$80 per yearbook. As we get closer to the end of the term, we will reach out to you with more information on the ordering process.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we finalize our plans. If you have any concerns, please contact Mr. Polazzo at polazzo@stuy.edu, and we will address your individual needs. If students have any additional questions about this process, feel free to reach out to senior class co-presidents Cynthia Tan and Elio Torres at senior@stuysu.org.

Sincerely,

Matthew Polazzo, Coordinator of Student Affairs
