Stuy BSL (Black Students League) and ASPIRA announce Stuyvesant’s Black History Month Observance! Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a tie for recognizing the central roles of Blacks in U.S History. Also known as African American History Month, the event grew out of “Negro History Week”, the brainchild of noted historians, Carter G. Woodson and other prominent African Americans. This month, Stuy BSL will hold their 8th Annual Black History Month Dinner presentation on Thursday, February 27th in the student cafeteria from 4pm to 5:30pm. Come celebrate the history with our community. This year’s theme presentation will focus on “African Americans and the Vote”.
