The applications for the Big Sib program are now OPEN! The Big Sib organization is a Stuyvesant tradition intended to help incoming Freshmen adjust to their new environment and transition to their roles as high school students. Big Sibs are responsible for welcoming and mentoring new students at Camp Stuy and several Open Houses and providing tours and information. They are also assigned to a freshman homeroom with whom they form a special bond and meet with. Big Sibs take initiative to give advice to Little Sibs and answer any questions they may have about classes or extracurriculars.
Applications are open to rising Juniors and Seniors who have strong interpersonal skills, a passion for Stuyvesant, and deeply rooted knowledge about the school. The Big Sib Chairs are looking for a diverse set of applicants with many personality types and interests. Students should apply using the google form emailed to their stuy.edu email addresses on Friday from Vishwaa Sofat, VP of the Student Union, on their behalf. The applications will close on Saturday, April 6th at 11:59PM. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to the Big Sibs chair on Facebook or email them at bigsibchairs20@gmail.com.
