The Big Sib program has been a Stuyvesant tradition to help the incoming freshmen transition smoothly into high school and help them adjust to the new environment as much as possible. We are responsible for holding events such as Camp Stuy, Open Houses, and dances. On top of this, Big Sibs will be assigned homerooms of Little Sibs to look after and meet with every other week! We give advice on topics from managing stress, extracurriculars, classes, or just life in general. We want people who have strong interpersonal skills and are able to connect to the incoming class as well as a passion for Stuyvesant and a shown commitment to our school.
Requirements:
- Students applying must have an above 85 overall GPA.
- A review of applications will be under the discretion of the Faculty Oversight Committee.
- You must be dedicated to the Big Sib Program. Applying to be a Big Sib means you are making a commitment to all the responsibilities that being a Big Sib entails.
