Earlier this year, nine high school students from across NYC and Long Island each earned a $3,000 AAYS scholarship, celebrated at our Visionaries of Tomorrow Gala. Applications are now open for the 2027 cycle, with multiple scholarships from $1,000 to $3,000.
The program recognizes students who show leadership potential, academic excellence, and a commitment to professional growth. It's designed to support Asian American youth, and former CAAF program participants and past applicants who didn't receive an award are welcome to apply.
Eligibility:
• High school sophomores, juniors, and seniors only (freshmen and college students are not eligible for 2027)
• Located in New York City or Long Island
• Minimum 3.0 GPA (or equivalent B average)
• Past AAYS recipients are not eligible for another award
How it works:
• Apply online by Sunday, November 22, 2026, at 11:59 PM
• Applicants are notified in early December if they've been selected to present
• Selected students give a 5-minute presentation on their career goals to a panel of judges on Saturday, January 23, 2027 (12:00 to 6:00 PM) at the Glow Cultural Center in Flushing
• Top presenters receive the scholarship
Students will need a headshot, a one-page resume, a school transcript (official or unofficial), a 250 to 500 word essay, and a one-minute video introduction.
Quick note: the application uses Google Forms. If a school account blocks outside forms, students should use a personal Google account.
