Over the past 83 years, Art and Design has evolved its showcase to represent its major areas in visual arts as part of a year-end showcase. Normally, this would run two weeks in the spring and be taken down prior to the close of June classes. We are fortunate to celebrate the same level of professional-level execution in a virtual space. This exhibition will bring together a selection of new and recent student work across the practical to experimental oeuvres. A lens of creation and innovation from the beginning of this school year produces a dichotomy between work on our students' culture, lived experiences versus their isolation brought about through a pandemic. The exhibition will also feature testimonials from seniors, a section dedicated entirely to the art developed in response to the pandemic and a student PSA competition supported by our institutional partners at NYU Tisch’s Kanbar School of Film and Television. All are invited to attend and revel in the culture of creation and innovation that makes Art and Design the premier visual arts secondary school in NYC.
