Scholarship Plus is a college scholarship program founded in 2010 to provide financial assistance and strong undergraduate support for outstanding, low-income New York City high school graduates.
Scholarship Plus offers such students a college scholarship of up to $8,000 a year PLUS individualized support. The scholarship may be used to pay tuition, room and board, fees and other educational expenses. Each scholarship will be renewable annually for up to four years of study as long as the student maintains a good academic record and makes standard progress toward a degree.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be current high school seniors (graduating spring, 2019) who attend public, parochial or private schools in New York City and who have demonstrated:
· Outstanding academic achievement (85% or higher GPA)
· Significant financial need (family income of 60k or below)
· Success in overcoming adversity
· A commitment to community service
· Preference will be given to students whose parents have not graduated from American four-year colleges or universities. Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
