AP Exam Update - Spring 2021

The College Board Advanced Placement (AP) exams will be administered in May and June as indicated in the 2021 Stuyvesant High School AP Exam Schedule. Please review the information below to determine if/what action steps you may need to take: 

AP Exam Registration
Stuyvesant High School’s final deadline (no exceptions) to register for an AP examination is Monday, March 8, 2021. Please review the following to determine if the situation applies to you: 

  • Spring 2021 – Single Term (One Semester) Classes
    • Only applies to students who are enrolled in Spring Term 2021 single term AP classes – AP Physics C E&M, AP Comparative Govt & Politics, AP United States Government and Politics (spring term), and AP Macroeconomics can register for the corresponding exams at My AP by obtaining the College Board Join Code from your AP teacher.
    • Deadline is Monday, March 8, 2021.
  • AP Exam Late Registration
    • Only applies to students who want to register for an AP examination corresponding to a class they have been enrolled in since Fall Term 2020. Students must complete the AP Exam Late Registration. The fee for late registration is $40. This fee applies to all students
    • Deadline is Monday, March 8, 2021.

AP Exam Deregistration
Students who have already registered for an AP examination, but have decided to not take the exam, should deregister.  Complete the AP Exam Deregistration to deregister from an exam. There is no fee to deregister.  After you deregister, the Stuyvesant AP Coordinator will finalize the deregistration process. Please note, if you submit payment for an AP exam and decide to deregister or do not take the AP exam, then refunds will not be issued until after June 2021. 

AP Exams Payment
The directions and link to an online payment portal to collect AP exam payment and/or late registration fees (if applicable) will be released on March 15, 2021. Payments must be made by Friday, April 2, 2021. Each exam costs $95. Students who qualify for economic hardship will have exams costs covered by the NYC Department of Education (NYC DOE). Students/families can complete the Family Income Inquiry Form to apply for hardship support (if this applies to you, please submit the form by March 8, 2021). 

AP Exams Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Students and/or their families may submit general questions or concerns relating to AP examination registration and administration using the 2020 - 2021 Advanced Placement (AP) Examination Administration: Question(s) Submission Form. Please submit all questions/concerns through the form in lieu of emailing individual staff members. Questions from the form will be gathered into a FAQs to be released to all students/families in the coming weeks.
