Fall registration for Advanced Placement (AP) exams has been ongoing. AP exam registration is required for students who desire to sit for AP exam(s) and can only be completed by students at myap. Students use the Join Code provided by their teachers. The AP Exam payment portal will open on October 23. 2023.
Payment for AP exams is a separate step from AP exam registration.

Registration
- The deadline to register and pay for AP exams is Wednesday, November 8, 2023.
- Registration for spring single-semester AP courses will not open until February 2024.
- This includes AP Comparative Government and Politics, AP Physics 2: Algebra-Based, AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism,, AP Microeconomics.
- Students who are not enrolled in an AP course at Stuyvesant who wish to register for an AP Exam and self-study may register for one (1) exam apart from AP courses corresponding to those they are already enrolled in (if any) subject to Department Chair approval as well as capacity as determined by the Testing Coordinator.
- This exception request must be filed using the Request for AP Exam Exception form. This exception request must be filed no later than November 8, 2023 by 3:30pm.
- If approved for the exception, the student will receive the join code from Dr. Haber directly to register at myap by November 1, 2023 .
- Students who are approved for an exception will not receive a code from a teacher. Following receipt of the join code from Dr. Haber, students or their parents/guardians must make payment (if applicable) through the AP Examination Payment Portal by November 8, 2023.
Payment
- Please pay for your AP exams by Friday, November 8, 2023 at 11pm.
- Payments for AP exams are made through the AP Examination Payment Portal and can be made by students or parents/guardians. The cost of each AP Exam is $98 plus additional processing fees. Students will be able to sit for AP exams only if they have registered at myap and they or their parents have paid for the exam on the AP Examination Payment Portal (if applicable).
- Payments for AP exams will be collected electronically only using the AP Examination Payment Portal.
- Cancellation and ‘no show’ fees for registrants will not be waived by the college board. Families may cancel their registration through their College Board My AP account through November 8, 2023 at 11pm without incurring fees. The cancellation fee is $40 per exam after November 15, 2023.
NOTE: Students who qualify for economic hardship have historically had their AP exams fees paid for by the NYC Department of Education (NYC DOE). If the letter they received from Stuyvesant indicates a status of “NO COST”, students should register only; and not go to the payment portal. This does not include late registration fees and/or no show and cancellation fees. Do not check off or pay late fees if you register by November 8, 2023. Families may complete the Family Income Inquiry Form if the source indicated on their letter from Stuyvesant reads “No Application”. You may fill out the form online to ratify your status. This takes several days to reflect entries and/or changes in the school’s system. Fees must be paid by the deadline whether the status changes or not. We will post a schedule for AP Exams at Stuyvesant High School on the School Website at the start of the spring 2024 term. Dates are subject to change if necessary, based on changing circumstances and factors. We will update you with any changes.
