Ms. Marissa Maggio, faculty advisor for the Enrionmental Club shares that The NYC Department of Education Office of Sustainability is recruiting NYC public and charter high school students for a Youth Leadership Council (YLC) that will help plan a Youth Climate Summit this winter. Students will gain a variety of professional and organizing skills and be actively involved in increasing DOE sustainability efforts. They're ooking for NYC public or charter 9-12th graders who are passionate about the environment, community empowerment, and climate change resiliency to join our YLC! They will meet for 2 hours after-school once per month from October-May (8 meetings) at 44-36 Vernon Blvd, Long Island City. For more information, view the one-page letter at this LINK.
