Stuyvesant High School hosted Germany Day this past week with a Zeilenschmiede Slam Poetry Workshop for German students during 5-9th periods and an inauguration ceremony with the German Consul General where Stuyvesant’s relationship with the Goethe-Institut was officially recognized. Stuyvesant is now a PASCH (Schools: Partners in the Future) school! This allows for Stuyvesant to expand our German language program and for funding that will allow students to have opportunities such as visits to Germany, German summer camps in Colorado, and the sponsorship for exams as well as opportunities to build pedagogy here at Stuyvesant. You can learn more about the organization by visiting PASCH online.
At the celebration this week, there were various workshops after school on Berlin/graffiti in Berlin, soccer in Germany with representatives from the FC Bayern Muenchen soccer team and music in German that took place in the cafeteria as well. (photos courtesy of Ms. McAuliffe & Mr. Smith)
